What's an avatar?

An avatar is a little icon that appears next to your screen name in the list of current users in the chat room. Avatars are used differently in different PULPchats.

When a PULPchat is used for customer service, an avatar next to several screen names indicates that these are the representatives of the company. This way, there is no confusion about who works for the company and who is a visitor. Each PULPchat can have its own custom avatar to represent its company or website.

When PULPchat is used as a public forum, avatars can be used to add some personality to a person's screen name. Some PULPchats allow anyone to have an avatar while others only allow registered users to have avatars.
