What is that round icon in the corner that keeps changing colors?

   

The icons above are PULPchat Connection Indicators. In each PULPchat, a single indicator blinks as information is sent or received through PULPchat. Since we're not redrawing the entire page each time, which produces the undesirable effect of making the whole page blink, we needed some way to show the status of the connection. The indicator turns from green to yellow each time PULPchat sends or receives data. The faster it changes back to green, the faster your connection. On a 56k connection it should only be yellow for a second to half a second. On a DSL or cable connection you should barely be able to see it change.

What if the connection indicator changes to red?
